Scott Waugh: Act Of Valor Need For Speed
With the film recently arriving on DVD, I had the chance to talk to co-director Scott Waugh and star Lieutenant Commander Rorke Denver about the release, the critical reaction to the film, and the rumors that Waugh would be directing the upcoming video game adaptation, **Need for Speed
I couldn’t find a better brand than Need for Speed . I mean it's a huge franchise and to direct under the leadership of Steven Spielberg is just- to me- probably one of the coolest things that could ever happen in my career. I'm just really excited to bring my filmmaking style and authenticity to that kind of ge
Previously known as Project Ares , Valorant is just one of several games that Riot recently announced it’s working on. The League of Legends developer is also working on a new fighting game and a dungeon crawler, as well as the card battler Legends of Runeterra , which is currently in beta. If that wasn’t enough, the developer also recently launched a whole new division devoted to making tabletop games. Aside from Legends of Runeterra , Valorant looks to be the furthest along of any of Riot’s new projects , or at least the one players have the most information ab
When the film **Act of Valor ** arrived in theaters earlier this year it became a surprise hit, opening at number #1 at the box office. The film went on to earn over $70 million domestically (on a $12 million budget) and brought recognition to both the real life Navy SEALs who starred in the picture and co-directors Scott Waugh and Mike Mc
In terms of the DVD and Blu-ray that arrived in stores nationwide last week, Waugh noted that they are packed with extras including deleted scenes, a director's commentary and the interviews that were conducted with the SEALs before the film went into production. Waugh noted that audiences will " get to really learn intimately about each of the operators on these interviews ," and added that " the Blu-Ray is so packed that we had to leave some things of
"By adding unique character abilities that complement the game’s gunplay we believe we’re expanding upon the traditional tac shooter experience and bringing something new to the genre - and we hope the launch of Valorant Strategy|Https://Valorantfocus.Com/ will be the start of a long-term relationship with tactical FPS fans from around the world," Anna Donlon, the game's executive producer, said in the official press release. You know the way Runaan's Hurricane is only available for ranged champions in LoL, for example? This is not to be the case in VALORANT, the team has announced. "All agents have access to all guns, which can be purchased via a round-to-round based economy. All guns have their own strategic value and depth of mastery in both recoil control and situational deployment," the press release expla
There's definitely an immediacy and immersive feel to the Act of Valor footage shown so far, what with the heavy amounts of handheld camerawork, first person POV shots, and the up-close-and-personal structure of the film in general. McCoy and Waugh are highly-experienced stunt coordinators whose skills in that area have clearly served them well with their directorial debut, allowing for some gritty explosive set pieces and terse battle sequences alike. Fortunately, it doesn't look like they've gone too overboard with the "shaky cam" or excessive editing as well - though, we won't know for certain until the actual movie is relea
There's a twist to the classic tactical shooter experience: players will be able to choose from a set of agents all with their own unique skills and abilities - not unlike League of Legends - that hail from real-world locations and cultures. The abilities will not only change the way of shooting as the most basic principle; they will also provide strategic advantages, as well as tactical support. The game will be based on an attackers vs defenders style, set on a near-future Earth, with unique tactical opportunities enabled by each character's skill
Act of Valor focuses on a team of Navy SEALs working to prevent a massive terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Although the movie wasn’t well-received by critics, both audiences and many real-life Navy SEALs appreciated it. Waugh said that the reactions he’s received—and the film’s success—have been "really humbling." He described some of the encounters he's had since Act of Valor 's rele
McCoy and Waugh will produce the new Act of Valor movie installment, but the screenwriting and directing responsibilities are going to be handled by Scott Wiper instead. The latter has made such films as the small-town vigilante feature Captain Jack , the police/Mafia thriller A Better Way to Die and the "death match as televised entertainment" action-thriller The Condemned (which was released well-after The Running Man , but before The Hunger Game movie). If you have never heard of, much less seen , any of these films, well... that's may be because most of them were box office duds and critical misfi
