Those interested in checking out what should be one of the first big RPG releases of 2017 should head over to the PlayStation Store now to begin downloading their copy of the demo. First impressions matter a lot, and if the buzz surrounding the demo is any indication, NieR: Automata could be a sleeper hit waiting to happen - perhaps Square Enix and Platinum Games will be able to combine to top the former's incredible 2016 after

They're also rather hellish to descend, because Steep is not an easy game. After all, you're tackling the Alps. It's supposed to be a challenge, and the game definitely doesn't shy away from putting a tree in your flight path.

This system sends signals out into the area around the player, and these signals provide information that helps determine how much reverb to use – what the walls are made of, how big the room is, and so on. The green dots in this image are the exact spots where these signals hit, but you won’t see them when you play Nier Automata Dlc|Https://Nierautomatafans.Com/: Automata. They’re just there to help us debug the dynamic echo system!

Here’s a common situation: You’re patting yourself on the back for making an animation that looks super-cool and flows really nicely. Then, you put your perfect animation into the game engine and try controlling it, and it dawns on you that it’s too slow, too clunky. With tears in your eyes, you go back and cut away huge parts of your magnificent creation until it finally feels good.

On the other hand, Square Enix mentioned better lighting and shadows definition for PS4 Pro, but from what we can see in the comparison screenshots above, and playing the demo, those improvements might not yet be implemented in the demo. That's quite understandable, considering that we're still about two months from release.

"Join androids 2B and 9S and their ferocious battle to reclaim a machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machine lifeforms... NieR: Automata is a fresh take on the action role-playing game genre that gracefully blends mesmerising action with a captivating sto

In an action game, the response time between when a player pushes a button and when their attack is performed has to feel great. To improve this response time, we use a special tool to fine-tune when each animation can be canceled into other actions, and occasionally even make subtle adjustments to their total speed. We have to be careful, though – if the animators catch us changing the speed too much, they get pretty mad…

After a bit of tweaking, we try it out and see how it feels. Then we tweak again, and test again, then tweak again, then… It’s repetitive work, but all this testing is essential to make NieR: Automata feel exactly as it should. Sometimes we end up spending an entire day just working out the perfect way to position enemies in a single fight scene!

NieR: Automata  will release in Japan for PS4 on February 23rd, in North America on March 7th, and in Europe on March 10th, 2017. A PC version is also scheduled to come next year, but no release window has been announced for that one. It's definitely a hotly anticipated game. It won our staff-pick for Most Anticipated Game of 2017 , and it ranked third among our read

That description is consistent with the development narrative that has been told by Platinum Games, with the studio often emphasizing in press releases that it wants NieR: Automata to redeem the original game's failures. The demo, which is available for free, features action combat that is more akin to Bayonetta than a traditional action-RPG, and the early response from those who have gotten their hands on the demo is a positive one. That's good news for Platinum Games, as the developer would like to bring NieR: Automata to Xbox One as well if there is enough demand for

This award is also special, as it comes with a second meaning, representing our respect for taking a decision that certainly mustn't have been easy, and that most studios and publishers probably wouldn't have had the guts to take.

When NieR: Automata was first announced , fans of the original game were excited to hear that the title was making an unexpected return thanks to Platinum Games. This week, Game Rant had a chance to go hands-on with an early build of Nier: Automata , speaking with the producers about how the sequel aims to fix the extensive gameplay problems of the original title, while expanding the lore and universe from the first NieR that fans seemed to systematically love more than crit

The shooter category was crowded this year, and the competition was very, very close. Ultimately, Battlefiel 1 narrowly came back on top from at least four games that would have been worthy of the award.

That will likely change in 2017, however, if the past few weeks have been any indiciation. Not too long ago, Square Enix announced that there would be a link between Final Fantasy 15 and NieR: Automata , a statement that showed a strong belief in the latter's development progress. Today, developer Platinum Games upped the ante even further, unleashing a 4.4 GB demo of NieR: Automata in the PlayStation Store. The demo also got an updated description once it went l
