Sea Of Thieves Forsaken Shores Expansion Arrived
It’s no secret that Sea of Thieves has had quite a few issues since its launch last week. Most notably, players have been slamming the servers , trying to get online and partake of Rare’s pirate sandbox. Unfortunately, that influx of players has also led to several other problems, including some bugs with the game’s messaging sys
Most importantly, the update brings a new region to explore: The Devil’s Roar. If you remember sailing along a vast and empty The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker -style ocean in the early days, you’ll be glad for any new area, but this is just on a whole new level. As the official trailer demonstrates, it’s a perilous place, with earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, fireballs and scalding geysers to avoid. If you were looking for an exciting new area to explore, The Devil’s Roar is sure to bring all the excitement you could’ve asked
Scars and tattoos can now be added to player avatars to further make pirates more unique, there's a new flag system for ships, and even a brand new instrument (a drum!) needed to summon the mighty megalodon shark. But first, the quest itself! How does a pirate and their crew start The Hungering Deep's limited time event, Merrick's Quest ? And how do we get the drums?! Allow us to explain, in det
Merrick offers this clue to look for the "fin-rock that stands in a lagoon" and it's very close by! Head to the center of Shark Bait Cove and look for the fin-shaped rock to find Merrick’s Journal XX which has two pages. The first hint is that two ships had to work together, using the drum instrument, to summon the giant megalodon shark. The second hint, "red haired and fair of face, her tavern stands at a shining place!" which refers to Tina at Golden Sands Outpost (E
The reward for selling even the most valuable chicken types (like the gold-feathered ones) is miniscule and only a tiny fraction of their actual value when on a voyage. So, unless your crew is tasked with acquiring livestock, don't waste time capturing and transporting animals. They have virtually no va
When starting up Sea of Thieves after the free update, players start as per usual in a tavern except there's a new character here, the Bilge Rat. This is where you learn of new events, beginning right now with Merrick's Quest . He'll point you in the direction of Shark Bait Co
Head to Dagger Tooth Outpost and ask Teri about drunken pirates. She gives a few location hints: "fishy lil cave," "underr the golden arch," and "uncharted place wessht o’ Shark Tooth Key- he sshaid there’sh a rock nearby ‘looks jussht like hish enemy" which points to Shark Tooth Key (U-15) and if you go west you can find a barely visible uncharted island at S
The other key issue addressed in Rare's developer update is cheating in Sea of Thieves . Despite only releasing a few weeks ago, the game reportedly already has a hacking problem, and Rare states that the studio considers dealing with this issue a top priority. The studio reiterated its banning policy, stating that any players caught cheating in the game would be banned straight a
Now, the DLC’s arrival was slightly delayed. Pirates don’t tend to set much stock by the rules and time-keeping, though, so there’s no surprise there. Regardless, it launched on September 27th for Xbox One and PC, and has certainly brought some curious new wrinkles to the gamep
In a recent developer update, Rare laid out plans to alter the way that Sea of Thieves ' multiplayer operates, while also explaining how the studio planned to deal with cheating in the strategy game collectibles|https://Strategyreviewer.com/ before briefly touching upon the topic of post-launch cont
Now, gamers everywhere have all kinds of mixed feelings about Sea of Thieves . The winning premise— piratical PvP? Sure as heckles don’t mind if we do— was let down by some unfortunate decisions on Rare’s part, and an egregious lack of content in the early days. If Street Fighter V taught us anything, though, it’s that you can release a game and then add the actual game to it later, via upda
On top of that, Sea of Thieves players are still seeing a delay in gold and reputation rewards and there has been some server instability noted on the forums. Not all of these issues will be fixed by this week’s patch, but Rare is hoping to get the more pressing problems ironed out. At the very least, this patch should put the game on the path towards stability and new content releases , even if some problems still pers
Fortunately, Phil Spencer (Executive Vice President of Gaming at Microsoft) knows this all too well and is in the midst of turning things around. As Bloomberg reports, Spencer claims that the focus moving forward for Microsoft will be in software as it will begin to either create new studios or purchase them. He said: "We need to grow, and I look forward to doing that. Our ability to go create content has to be one of our strengths. We haven’t always invested at the same level. We’ve gone through ups and downs in the investment." Furthermore, Spencer indicated on Major Nelson's podcast that there are going to be some " positive changes " at this year's E3, presumably meaning that they are truly starting to turn things around with regard to first-party cont
