Here we’re working on an animation for the boss robot you saw in the E3 2016 trailer. This boss came with some special directions from the designer in charge of mechanical characters: She has a lot of joints that can only bend back and forth in one direction, giving her believably robotic movements. For example, in her shoulders alone there’s a detailed division between parts that can only turn one way, and parts that can only turn the other way. This robotic joint structure applies to this character’s entire model, as well as other robots in NieR: Automata.

Soon we'll be able to play the demo of the game ourselves. It will be released for PS4 on December 22nd , while the game will release in North America on March 7th, 2017, while Europe will get it on March 1

This system sends signals out into the area around the player, and these signals provide information that helps determine how much reverb to use – what the walls are made of, how big the room is, and so on. The green dots in this image are the exact spots where these signals hit, but you won’t see them when you play NieR: Automata. They’re just there to help us debug the dynamic echo system!

Because it's an action RPG genre, there is a main story, but we do have side quests as well. While we do call them side quests, some of them actually have chapters within themselves as well. Some of them are actually really difficult. If you want to really complete everything, it might take from 25-30 hours of gameplay, and you might need to upgrade all your weapons and whatnot to complete the quests as well, so it may take longer than t

All that said, Nier: Automata is looking to be as equally impressive as its parent games. This series shines and maybe releasing earlier in the year will garner the attention Nier: Automata deserves. This is no JRPG newcomer; these games have been there the whole time and stand up to the best of them.

The trickiest part is properly controlling the movement of her cloth details. Robots tend to look bland and lifeless when they aren’t moving, so making her cape flow in a somewhat exaggerated, almost heroic manner helps her look more dynamic. It was harder than we expected to keep her metal skirt from sticking out from under the cloth dress when she moves! The more we tried to fix it, the more her dress stretched out to its limits. It took a lot of time and effort to keep her dress shaped properly.

As usual, keep in mind that the list below (or at least most of it) represents our personal feelings and taste. It's perfectly ok to disagree, and you can and should feel free to express your own winners in the comme

Here’s a distinctive landscape! Rows and rows of nearly identical housing units stretch across the desert as far as the eye can see. To be honest, I’m not crazy about having to draw the same thing out over and over again like this in 2D, so I started making this piece by digitally placing models of the buildings in 3D space and painting over that. To keep it consistent with the overall game world, I brightened the scene up and toned the colors way down until it’s nearly monochromatic.

Tokyo Game Show just closed the gates on its 2016 edition, and it was a great show. While it was a bit short on groundbreaking announcements, it had a very solid showing, with many games that will delight us in the next year or so, and most of them were playable on the show fl

While the red-eyed enemies did run the risk of repetition, the game mixed up the action with unique camera angles, switching from a traditional 3D perspective to a 2D sidescroller. These transitions felt seamless, and the bold move to play with camera angles kept the combat from feeling too stale as 2B progressed to each new fighting location. Nier: Automata is a game fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting and even has a demo available. So what makes Nier so important and what does it have to offer gamers? It wasn’t mind blowing by any means, but what it was doing for gaming was something drastically different.

PlatinumGames opted to further utilize the power of PS4 Pro by implementing better visual effects, as you can see in the screenshots below. Besides looking even smoother thanks to a motion blur effect (first picture), lighting will be more advanced (second picture), including sharper god rays and atmospheric effects.
